another bulk of the movies i've watched in the past couple or so months... (rephrasing some imdb synopsis because i've forgotten about the stories of most of these...)

little ashes - 2/5
synopsis: two, young spanish boys wishing to be pioneers in the field and then ends up in a very weird, passionate love...
- the only highlight of the film: seeing robert pattinson as the weird and gay salvador dali... he's still quite a handsome chap for me...

ong bak - 3/5
synopsis: young martial arts dude kicks tons of azz to get the God idol back...
- cool muscles and action scenes but the dude is... meh...

ong bak 2 - 2/5
synopsis: young prince dude kicks tons of azz to get his rightful throne back...
- i was really surprised that it was in no way related to the "prequel" movie...
- it had some cool action scnene but the first movie made more sense...
- i ended up missing the muay thai action in the first movie... there was none of that in this movie...

state of play - 2/5
synopsis: couple of reporters overstep their boundaries as they chance upon leads to a murder leading to something else more...
- had to check imdb for this... meaning, it's not a really memorable movie...

inglourious basterds - 4/5
synopsis: group of nazi killers... a vengeful girl... and a very basterdly german... quentin tarantino does it again...
- christoph waltz kills as landa... a very, very deserving win...
- it wasn't as action-y as i'd expected... (it is a does have a war setting, after all...) but it's still all good with mr.tarantino's clever dialogues...

the boat that rocked - 3/5
synopsis: rock and roll is banned! but that doesn't stop these rebels from launching at pirate ship pirate radio...
- some very cool music was featured (as far i as remember...)

whip it - 2/5
synopsis: a loser girl in a loser town finds her calling in rollerball...
- not really as amusing as i thought...
- ellen page's still pretty cute (she'll always be juno for me, though) and zoe bell was a suprising (and cool) extra...

julie & julia - 3/5
synopsis: julia child stumbles her way into being the cooking legend... julie powell tries to get something done for once in her life by blogging about getting through julia's cookbook...
- pretty cute movie... pretty cute meryl streep role...

the hangover - 4/5
synopsis: 4 friends hilariously picks up the pieces of their wasted night in vegas...
- brandon cooper... *swoon*...
- the chinese dude was hella funny!

observe and report - 1/5
synopsis: a deluded head of security in a mall goes beyond his job description in capturing a flasher...
- referred to imdb again...
- quite a tasteless movie, really... meh...

400 blows - 2/5
synopsis: a really bad boy deliberately goes out and screws his life over... really bad parents too... tsk tsk...
- damn, the boy is pretty cute too...

adam - 4/5
synopsis: a really weirdly intelligent man finally attempts at making something of his life when he falls in love with his neighbor...
- i'm only giving this a 4 because it didn't end quite as i wanted it too... boo...

the blind side - 4/5
synopsis: a homeless boy finds shelter from a woman and an equally supportive family...
- i didn't get why sandra bullock won all the best actress award for this movie... she did play it well, though... it's that that i don't really get it...
- nice family movie...
- there's surprisingly only a few football scenes, though...

brick - 2/5
synopsis: a man investigates the death of his former lover...
- i would've rated this higher if i could just understand it... there was just too much jargon to even understand it...
- i even had to google the whole summary of it... am i really that slow? ^^

synopsis: an eccentric crossword puzzle maker goes out of her way for her "true love"... and the "true love" goes out of his way to avoided the weird chick...
- it stared out okay at first... and then, it was all weird by the end...
- still, brandon cooper... *swoon*...

synopsis: pocahontas + fern gully + 3d + future stuff = avatar... ^^
- watched this in imax and visual wise, it's awesommmmmmmmmmmme...
- story wise, kinda meh...

been doing a lot of watching lately... and too little posting... so here's the big bulk of the movies i've recently watched...

my sister's keeper - 3/5
synopsis: a family deals with a cancer stricken daughter...
- if i were dying, it'd be so cool to meet a good guy...
- if my body parts were being harvested for a sake of a dying sibling, i'd be cool with it...
- nice twist at the ending...
- quite the tear-jerker, i must say...

the deer hunter - 4/5
synopsis: two men's simple lives change forever after being sent off to war...
- robert de niro quite the charmer here...
- the first russian roulette scene was one of the most absorbing scenes i've ever watched...
- one of those slow starting films... and then it just leaves you shaken by the end of it...

wall street - 1/5
synopsis: a lowly stock dude works for the big guy and suddenly gets more than he bargained for...
- i would've rated this film better if i just understood it...
- michael douglas' performance was pretty good, though...

the maid - 2/5
synopsis: a filipina maid hired by a couple with very freaky secrets gets spooked in singapore...
- this got a higher rating than wall street just because alessandra de rossi's in it... ohoho...
- but to be honest, the story's pretty bleh...

12 angry men - 5/5
synopsis: a boy's fate is changed that started from one vote of "not guilty"...
- one of the most absorbing movies i've ever seen...
- simple set, simple scenes, great acting, great story, great screenplay, great movie...

2001 a space odyssey - 2/5
synopsis: human that now live in space discover some kind of rectangular thing... and then a computer thingy goes berserk...
- another stanley kubrick movie that made me go "WTF?!"...
- i've never been so scared of a robot voice before...

requiem for a dream - 5/5
synopsis: 4 people experience the ultimate high and the ultimate low with drug use...
- not all movies get a happy ending... this is one of those movies... oops spoiler...
- jared leto so young...
- great great performance by Ellen Burstyn...

the big lebowski - 3/5
synopsis: a case of mistaken identity turns into one heck of a shitfest...
- the main dude drank so much white russian in the movie, it makes me wonder what it tastes like...
- the nude scene of cate blanchett was... was... erm...

alien - 3/5
synopsis: an alien specie hops aboard and goes on a killing spree
- ripley is one bad ass mutha!
- i envy the cat... he got it easy...

aliens - 3/5
synopsis: as the title suggest, it's not one, not two but a whole lot more salivating creatures!
- it's like starship troopers but less poppy and more darky...
- as expected, ripley kicks ass and saves the day!

banlieue 13 - 5/5
synopsis: the government wants to blow up the district run by society's cast-offs... a couple of guys has other plans...
- parkour in a movie! coooooool...
- David Belle's hot...
- Cyrille Raffaeli's just so-so...

twilight: new moon - 2/5
synopsis: the sequel of twilight... a breakup... a new "friend"... werewolves and more vamps...
- one of the most awkwardly acted movie's i've seen... kinda disappointing really since i'm really a fan of the books...
- twilight was way better...
- great soundtrack, though...

banlieue 13 ultimatum - 2/5
synopsis: the parkour boys are back because the government still wants to blow up the district...
- David Belle's not so hot no more...
- another case of the first-movie-was-better-by-a-mile...

basic instinct - 4/5
synopsis: a man gets stabbed to death and who do they blame? the hot chick... they blame her but still fuck her anyway...
- now i know why the legs scene was "legendary"...
- another michael douglas movie...
- at the end of the movie, i still didn't know who the killer was... ^^

confessions of a shopaholic - 2/5
synopsis: a shopaholic gets a column about how to save money while being in huge debt herself... no matter, she gets the hot guy in the end...
- Isla Fisher is cute no matter what...
- the story, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired...

dance of the dead - 2/5
synopsis: zombies find the local school mouth-watering and crash in the on prom night...
- not another zombie movie!
- it was kinda weird how the characters were acting like it's not big deal that people around them were dying... then again, it's just a movie...
- rock and roll makes the freakin zombies subdued! what an idea!

driving lessons - 4/5
synopsis: a young boy finally learns how it is to live when he began working for a washed up actress...
- for some reason, Rupert Grint looks like Bi Rain...
- Julie Walter's delivery of Evie is so so nice...

ebola syndrome - 3/5
synopsis: a man contracts the ebola virus after raping a native african and then proceeds to infect all those around him...
- the main dude is way more gross than the virus itself... i tell you...

law abiding citizen - 4/5
synopsis: when justice failed him, he takes revenge on everyone...
- i would've rated this a 5/5 if it weren't for the ending... meh...
- Gerard Butler sure like to show off his ASSets... ^^

(500) days of summer - 5/5
synopsis: boy meets girl... boy in love but the girl is kinda not into it...
- it definitely is not a love story... (spoiler alert - it would've been if they ended up together in the end...)
- the 2 main characters are soooo cute...
- great soundtrack too...
- the main dude is so pathetic, you'd want to come in the screen and give him a big hug...

fatal attraction - 4/5
synopsis: an affair turns into a nightmare...
- Glenn Close really kills the villain role, especially the pycho bitch one...
- another Michael Douglas film... (lucky guy... he gets all the hot girls...)
- if you don't want your dude to cheat on you, let him watch this...

Eight and a Half - 1/5
synopsis: a director looks back on his life in the making of his latest film...
- i'm surprised i was able to make a synopsis for this when most part of the movie made not much sense...
- i have a crush on the main dude's look, though... an aging man in brushed-up hair and coke-bottle glasses is one, hot man...

friday the 13th - 1/5
synopsis: jason's at it again and again and again...
- i hate slasher flicks... i effin hate it...
- i don't know why i ended up watching this movie...
- the only unpredictable thing about slasher films is the order of the killing... meh...

gabriel - 3/5
synopsis: an angel is sent to save the other fallen angels and bring light to the darkness and shit...
- i like the main dude's eyes and voice... he's hot...
- one of those action movies that use too much dialogue than action... meh...
- the ending leaves much to be desired...

he's just not that into you - 3/5
synopsis: a film about the adventures of people interconnected by the social tango that is love...
- there are surprisely quite a number of good dating pointers here...
- after watching zack and miri make a porno, i found it difficult watching Justin Long as a straight guy... he's way more effective as a gay guy...

how to be - 5/5
synopsis: a very depressed boy seeks the personal services of an author of a self-help book...
- Robert Pattinson as a pathetic guy is a breath of fresh air...
- he plays good too...
- i found it cute that some scenes that were supposed to be serious had this very comedic background music...

zombieland - 4/5
synopsis: a dude shares his pointers on how to survive zombieland... and gets some pointers as well on how to land a chick...
- i have to write down those pointers...
- the bill murray scene was the LOL!

i love you man - 3/5
synopsis: the groom-to-be has no friends... and so he must go on man-dates to find it best man...
- it's so funny how to bro-mance could be so gay on some scenes...

irreversible - 4/5
synopsis: a man seeks for revenge for the brutal rape of his lover...
- told in a Memento style manner...
- i would've given this a 5/5 if not for the swirling camera movement...
- Monica Belluci is hot hot hot... and then she gets raped real real real bad...

lesbian vampire killers - 2/5
synopsis: a couple of losers have to save the world from being run over by lesbian vampires...
- hot lesbian vamps... and no hot dudes at all... meh...
- the cock sword... oh yeah...

- i really do not like this kind of movie genre... i wonder why i bothered watching it...
- the only amusing scene in the movie was the infected, freaky hand thing chasing the screaming guy... weh weh...

synopsis: freaky alcohol thingy makes people die in a rather colorful way...
- weird, weird film...
- the only thing that made kind of sense was the colorful dying scenes...

- i kinda didn't get the gist of the film...
- the clones were kinda cute, though...
- ron pearlman as the gentle giant was kinda cute too...

synopsis: a look into michael jackson's final work...
- i liked the the way you make me feel arrangement...
- mj being the perfectionist cutey cute person is quite the combination...
- he will be missed...

synopsis: dude who gets black outs is actually being visited by his future self to fix up the past...
- it was quite hard picturing ashton kutcher in a dark movie...
- still, it's an ok-ok movie...

- i like quiet humor movies like this...
- gives off such a nice feeling...

synopsis: in the time of war, a slick american dude running a saloon in a neutral land reunites with an old flame...
- for an old movie, it was quite engaging...
- why do the leading men in old movies look old while the women look just like their age?
- humphrey bogart... swoon...

the time traveler's wife - 3/5
synopsis: a dude who goes disappearing randomly and appears naked found his life's meaning with a then 6 year old girl...
- i dunno why it has that title when the movie is mostly focused on the time traveler...
- sweet movie, though...
- but... but... the ending... awwwwwwww...

- the movie reminded me so much of prison break especially when the main dude shave off his hair...
- val kilmer had a great performance here...

- meg ryan is HOT here and very cute too...
- it's kinda weird when meg ryan and tom hanks' son are pairing up on this movie... good thing they're not the couple... that would've been weirder...

synopsis: something's happening - a funky wind thingy's making people kill themselves...
- annoying acting... bad bad acting... or maybe they did it on purpose... hmmm...
- it's so ridiculous how they try to run away from the funky wind thingy...
- the only redeeming scene in the movie is the talking to the plastic plant scene...

synopsis: a woman about to enter 40 is in a whirlwind with romance, trying to get pregnant and meeting her birth mother...
- bette midler so cute in the movie...
- colin firth's character's pretty cute too... so cheezy him...
- overall, a good feel-good movie...

- not another matthew mcconaughey womanizer alpha male movie?!
- the cliche of the movie just kills the humor (and i watched this with a heavy cold... weh...)
- jennifer garner is still as cute as ever (she got a little skinny though...)

in bruges - 5/5 !!!
synopsis: 2 hitmen holes up in a "shithole" town in belgium but the "vacation" turns into some much more than they expected...
- weeeeeee... the first movie to hit the perfect score...
- it's so cute how colin farell is all whiny and suicidal and insulting in the movie... very impressive acting, i must say... no wonder he got the gloden globe for the role...
- i really really liked this movie... very well written and played out... must see...

synopsis: john dillinger robs banks and the fbi people are out to get him...
- how i love johnny depp's swooning smirk...
- michael mann film = dizzy camera movement movie...
- the gunfights are really, really loud...
- it's funny how dillinger just swoop in places being the public enemy #1 and the people around just don't notice...
- channing tatum only having 1 tiny scene = boooooooooooooo!

synopsis: 2 sisters bitching about and being bitches for the king of england... based on a novel of the same name...
- i'm quite surprised how nice this movie is...
- now i'm really interested in watching the tudors...
- eric bana does look good playing henry... (jonathan rhys meyers is hotter, though...)

alpha dog - 3/5
synopsis: some owed debt and a long, steaming shit on the carpet results in a kidnapping gone wrong... based on a true story...
- justin timberlake's suprisingly good here...
- ben foster also delivers quite good as a psycho high mental guy...

baby mama - 2/5
synopsis: rich, single woman can't have baby and hires a surrogate with a less than adequate breeding...
- wasn't really as funny as i thought it'd be...
- i like the "Congratulations, Kate. I want to reward you with five minutes of uninterrupted eye contact." scene... i think that was the only scene i laughed at...

charlie bartlett - 3/5
synopsis: rich guy wants to be popular and does just that by hearing people out and handing them drugs...
- another anton yelchin movie (he's also in alpha dog)... he's getting cuter and cuter the more i see him...
- i like charlie's mum...
- robert downey jr. really nails the drunken guy with the gun part...

synopsis: why can't people understand that you-know-who is back?!
- ok, so i'm a little late... (watched this in case someone might ask me out to watch the half blood prince...)
- i was kinda sad when sirius died...
- i'm kinda having a hard time remembering what i liked about the movie... hmmm...
- robert pattinson was kinda distracting even though only a picture and some flashbacks of him were shown...

stop loss - 3/5
synopsis: a soldier wants out of the army but oops, no can do...
- i think channing tatum got a part in g.i. joe because he's so hot in a uniform as seen in this movie...
- the premise of the movie was pretty much thrown out the window at the ending AKA "why didn't you just do that in the first place?!" - silent scream to self...

the fall - 2/5
synopsis: injured guy and injured girl make up stories and cries about it in the hospital...
- lee pace was cute...
- the little girl was pretty cute, especially her accent...
- but the story was kinda all over the place, though...

- the film felt like a dream/nightmare sequence to me...
- freaky, weird, creepy, disturbing, disgusting in a very deliberate way...
- makes me want to watch more david lynch movies...
- the whole movie made no sense whatsoever but i guess mr.lynch wanted it like that...

elephant - 3/5
synopsis: camera follows all these kids around the campus and then 2 guys with guns arrive...
- i like the pacing of this movie... boring at first and then, you're at the edge of your seat...
- as soon as i saw the two boys with the battle gear, i instantly thought, "columbine"...

- way too old for my taste... (1932 film!)
- i could barely understand what they were saying (freak language only understood by freaks, i guess)...
- the film felt like a play to me instead of a movie... oh well...

angels and demons - 3/5
synopsis: the illuminati wants some payback by killing priests and blowing up the vatican and of course, tom hanks saves the day...
- i liked the da vinci code better...
- i got sleepy in the middle of the film...
- sorta predictable...
- ewan mcgregor is still cute as ever even as a priest... (too bad he's the... the... ufufu...)

tokyo sonata - 1.5
synopsis: an average japanese family gets all these heartbreaking stuff thrown at their faces and tries to cope somehow...
- it was just pitiful how so many things happened to them...
- i liked the ending song though...

umbrellas of cherbourg - 2/5
synopsis: singing guy and singing girl are so in love but then ugly war takes singing guy away and gives singing girl insecurities...
- the singing was quite annoying...
- the lead actress' decision was annoying...
- the plot was pretty predictable...

synopsis: if your husband cheats on you, you cheat back at him with another cheater... (too many cheating...)
- for some reason, the doctor fellow looked like hayden kho and the doctor fellow is a playboy who screws around... imagine that... 2 doctors... 2 jerkoffs...
- yun-jin kim's character is sooo pathetic here and treated so unjustfully so much so that it ruined the movie for me... so much for female (adulteress) empowerment...

the dreamers - 3/5
synopsis: a young, american lad gets entangled with a really queer french brother and sister...

had another mini marathon going... i finished the latter half of paycheck... then, i watched perfume the story of a murderer... lastly, i watched fast and furious...

and here are my ratings... (i'm a very generous rater)...

paycheck - 2/5
synopsis: a guys invents something real bad (or good), forgets about it and has to remember it all over again...
- just another nyaaa, forgettable sci-fi/thriller film

perfume the story of a murderer - 4/5
synopsis: a french dude obessess on making the most perfect perfume... (hint: you absolutely cannot manufacture perfumes made from a man's scent...)
- especially liked the whole city doing the orgy thing, weird ending though

fast and furious - 3/5
synopsis: i shall vanquish the drug dealer and avenge my dead girlfriend by driving really fast and looking cool as i do...
- cools cars, ok-ok cars scenes, ok-ok film, paul walker is still hot, vin diesel is still pretty macho, cool cars
