music stalk - victim #3: make you feel my love by adele

i heard kris allen's version first... then, i heard adele's... of course, being an adele fan, i thought hers was the original... but it was actually from bob dylan... who knew he could write such a beautiful song (well, i know now...)?

sleep all day... sorta...

i woke up monday afternoon around 1pm (went to bed around 4am)... watched 2 movies (refer to previous post... hehe...) and then watched a 3rd (redbelt) but my head suddenly went hurting... i paused the movie and left the computer running (was downloading something...)... then, i went to sleep around 5pm... i woke up again at 7pm for dinner... i went back to our room so that i could continue the movie but nechan was already positioned at my computer... apparently her computer could not access the internet... disgruntled, i went back to sleep and woke up at 930pm... my head was still hurting... oh how i love sleeping...

movies movies post #5

eraserhead - 3/5
synopsis: weird guy with a weird mutant baby has all these weird things happening to him...
- the film felt like a dream/nightmare sequence to me...
- freaky, weird, creepy, disturbing, disgusting in a very deliberate way...
- makes me want to watch more david lynch movies...
- the whole movie made no sense whatsoever but i guess mr.lynch wanted it like that...

elephant - 3/5
synopsis: camera follows all these kids around the campus and then 2 guys with guns arrive...
- i like the pacing of this movie... boring at first and then, you're at the edge of your seat...
- as soon as i saw the two boys with the battle gear, i instantly thought, "columbine"...

movies movies post #4

freaks - 1/5
synopsis: even circus freaks have crappy love lives too!
- way too old for my taste... (1932 film!)
- i could barely understand what they were saying (freak language only understood by freaks, i guess)...
- the film felt like a play to me instead of a movie... oh well...

angels and demons - 3/5
synopsis: the illuminati wants some payback by killing priests and blowing up the vatican and of course, tom hanks saves the day...
- i liked the da vinci code better...
- i got sleepy in the middle of the film...
- sorta predictable...
- ewan mcgregor is still cute as ever even as a priest... (too bad he's the... the... ufufu...)

manga fruit taste test #1

lovely complex - 4/5
synopsis: short guy + tall girl = funny cute couple...
- such a funny manga about simple and often complicated relationships and situations...
- the main couple weren't so lovey dovey but they have their moments... (it's so much more amusing to see them bickering especially about their heights anyway)...
- i didn't feel much of a resolution to the story but it's still all good...

- mangaka: Nakahara Aya
- genre: shoujo
- 17 volumes

music stalk - victim #2: claire de lune by claude debussy

in my previous post, i mentioned that i like the ending song of tokyo sonata... it was actually this song... i knew there was something familiar about it (i think it was played in nodame cantabile... debussy is mentioned quite a lot there)... it's really very beautiful (i've a soft spot for instrumental songs played by piano)... it's like the kind of music you fall in love with as you fall in love... beautiful, really...

oooh... flashing lights...

link of the clip in tokyo sonata with the song:

movies movies post #3

finished the last of my computer movies... here are my ratings...

tokyo sonata - 1.5
synopsis: an average japanese family gets all these heartbreaking stuff thrown at their faces and tries to cope somehow...
- it was just pitiful how so many things happened to them...
- i liked the ending song though...

umbrellas of cherbourg - 2/5
synopsis: singing guy and singing girl are so in love but then ugly war takes singing guy away and gives singing girl insecurities...
- the singing was quite annoying...
- the lead actress' decision was annoying...
- the plot was pretty predictable...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 7 - Php 39.30

i'm still sticking with my jeep-only-as-long-as-it's-not-raining-hard policy... and for tonight, it didn't rain and i was able to be "green"...

i left home around 10:15pm and hiked up to the jeep stop because the trisikads were scarce (at least, i was able to save 5 pesos)... then, just a few meters away from the jeep stop, i spotted an ulas jeep (a super rare jeep especially at night)... i ran after it because it's a semi-direct ride to the office (i'd have to hike again a bit but it's definitely better than taking the double, more expensive ride)... but i drove by me even after i waved my hand at it... dang it...

i took a toril jeep instead and when it drove by the shell station, i saw the mini-rollback on the gas... i smiled... freakin' 25 cents! oh well... at least that's something... better than going up, definitely... hope it won't go back up again any time soon... i'm still using dear nissan every now and then...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 6 - Php 39.55 (dated July 14, 2009 in my journal)

finally the long awaited rollback... still, you round it off and it's 40... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 5 - Php 40.55 (dated July 7, 2009 in my journal)

just last week, mum told me that there would be a piso rollback on the gas... i waited and waited... each time i'd drive, i'd glance at the shell station to look at the prices... it was still 40.05... then suddenly, today, it's 40.55! damn! good thing my cousins gassed nissan up... so i haven't paid for gas yet this week... probably tomorrow, i'd have to gas him up... i wouldn't want him choking on me again... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 4 - Php 40.05 (dated June 23, 2009 in my journal)

it really went there... i guess i'm only going to bring the car when i have the 3-11 shift... i guess i'm stuck with this expensive gas buying for 3 more weeks... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 3.1 - Php 39.00 CORRECTION! Php 39.05 (dated June 18, 2009 in my journal)

oops... it's actually 39.05... damn... and now ayasan is flashing the low gas lamp thingy... i might have to gas her up later or tomorrow morning... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 3 - Php 39.00 (dated June 16, 2009 in my journal)

omg... just piso to go... then again, i'm on the 3-11 shift... it's a little difficult taking a ride home late at night... damn... and my poor nissan's clutch got busted... drove it around yesterday with no clutch fluid... no wonder the stick was damn stiff... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 2 - Php 38.55 (dated June 12, 2009 in my journal)

damn... another increase... i guess i'm really on my way to riding jeep to work... and i just gassed up nissan just this afternoon... good thing i used ayasan yesterday... i've only spent 200 for nissan's gas this week... still, by the looks of things, it's not gonna decrease anytime soon... hayz...

the chronicles of oil price... entry 1 - Php 38.05 (dated June 09, 2009 in my journal)

unleaded gasoline at Shell is now at Php 38.05... DAMN! that's the 2nd increase in barely 2 weeks... DAMN! i had to let alex off my ecoland route and go with the shorter matina route... DAMN! the time when the gasoline was at 29 feels like a dream... DAMN! when the gas reaches 40, i'ma take the cleaner way of transportation... Php 38.05 is by far the most expensive charge of gas since i've started paying for my own gas for my pickup... 29 was the lowest... hahayz... those were the days... from now on, i will start chronicling the increasing in unleaded gas... hope the next entry will feature a lower price from the current one... crosses fingers!

poem poem de sara poem #2 - ID

a little weird but kinda makes me proud all the same is that this one actually got published in Banaag Diwa, the emo book of Ateneo de Davao University College Department...

my first published poem...

makes me smile...

(ok... the intro was a complete ripoff from my mulitply blog... i'm sleepy already!)

ID

love is torpid
but a breakup is rapid
we're a broken bicuspid
my ego against your id
had to close the lid
i'm just a kid
sorry for being so torrid
i know i did
something incredibly stupid
you've gone frigid
you've gone rigid
the feelings you hid
plot them on the grid
i have to be candid
without you, i'm lighter by a quid
on a day so humid
it's loneliness i must rid
it's goodbye i bid
gotta go look for cupid

roger roger #1

phew... just finished watching the 2004 australian open championship match between roger federer and marat safin... RF wins 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-2...

now for the stats and facts about this match:
- federer owned safin... yes, that's a fact...
- 2nd grand slam for RF...
- RF becomes number 1 in the world for the first time after winning (or even losing, if he ever did) this match...
- safin breaks 2 racquets and gets a racquest abuse violation after totaling the second...
- 2nd AO finals loss for safin...

some quotes from the match:

"you know, federer, when he was a kid, he used to hurl racquets like there was no tomorrow. he's so different now as a top player in the world." - commentator 1
"now he induces hurling." - commentator 2

"come on, safin. you can do it." - female spectator
"i'm trying. I'M TRYING!" - safin

come 2005 (the birthyear of my interest in the sport), safin bitch-slapped-revenge-style federer in a 5 setter semi-final 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(6), 7-9... then, i tuned in to the tv set and watched safin's match against lleyton hewitt... finally, safin wins the slam (his 2nd) and became my first tennis idol... (had i watched the 2004 final first, federer would've have been my first idol... regardless, he's my idol now...)

on a sad note, safin's retiring this year... he really hasn't lived up to his 2004 win and hasn't won that much with the injuries and all (i barely get to see him play anymore)... but he'll always be dear to me (not just because he's hot)... i'll surely miss his racquet hurling and intense energy/temper... i hope i'd get to see him play in the US Open series... hmmm... maybe i'll go watch his US Open win against pete sampras... hmmm...

(isn't this post supposed to be about roger?)...

movies movies post #2

just 2 movies to rate today...

ardor/milae - 3/5
synopsis: if your husband cheats on you, you cheat back at him with another cheater... (too many cheating...)
- for some reason, the doctor fellow looked like hayden kho and the doctor fellow is a playboy who screws around... imagine that... 2 doctors... 2 jerkoffs...
- yun-jin kim's character is sooo pathetic here and treated so unjustfully so much so that it ruined the movie for me... so much for female (adulteress) empowerment...

the dreamers - 3/5
synopsis: a young, american lad gets entangled with a really queer french brother and sister...
- one acronym: OMG
- another acronym: WTF
- bottomline: full frontal - the ultimate frontier

mondaYAY!!!

just woke up and for some reason, the time on my watch has lagged... the time on it is still 12:45am... i hope it's ok... i'm going to adjust it back after posting this...

my middle sister has gone back to her mountains and i wasn't able to say goodbye (she left around lunchtime and i was still asleep)... i was in a sleepy/blank/empty mood yesterday so i wasn't really able to "hang out" that much with her... (us family did to go church and went to sm)... i'm really not the lovable/approachable sister type and bong tend to be too loving sometimes... makes me think that i should behave better with her next time since she's not always here and she misses a lot of things... i should treat her to something next time (all she wants is mcburger and mcfloat, which she already had yesterday)... then again, i did let her touch me and kiss me without so much a glare or a swat (i'm not a touchy/feely person - case to case basis only)... ufufu...

well, while i wait for my duty time at the office, i'm going to watch more movies... i hope i can find the subtitles of the remainder of the movies left in my computer... i haven't got around to watching them because their subtitles or lack thereof suck... i hope i can find some good ones... it hurts my heart to just delete a movie without watching it just because i couldn't find the subs...

sunday/monday sign-off

my download has finished... transparent things is still playing... it's almost 4am and it's past my bedtime (not really that sleepy yet, but should sleep now because might have to wake up around lunchtime... then again, will still take a peek at the tele before officially calling it a night/morning)... so ends my first run on this blog... i really hope i could maintain it and i really hope i'd get some feedback soon... as for now, so far, so good... and for now, goodnight, good morning... i will blog again another day... hopefully, tomorrow/later...

poem poem de sara poem #1 - EVERYONE’S IN LOVE EXCEPT ME

(as i wait for the download of the federer v. safin 2004 australian open championship match to finish, i'm going to sneak in a poem... eventually, this blog will be flooded with my poems... haha... enjoy...)

EVERYONE’S IN LOVE EXCEPT ME

everyone's in love -- my golly
everyone's in love -- oh, how happy
everyone's in love -- they'll all marry
everyone's in love -- they're all horny
everyone's in love -- beautiful baby
everyone's in love -- they're all looney

everyone's in love -- while I'm in misery
everyone's in love -- and I'm lonely
everyone's in love -- and I feel ugly
everyone's in love -- and I feel cranky
everyone's in love -- and I'm turning thirty
everyone's in love -- no, not really

because everyone's in love -- except me
no, I'm in love -- but not he
no, he's in love -- but not with me
everyone's loved -- except me

had another mini marathon going... i finished the latter half of paycheck... then, i watched perfume the story of a murderer... lastly, i watched fast and furious...

and here are my ratings... (i'm a very generous rater)...

paycheck - 2/5
synopsis: a guys invents something real bad (or good), forgets about it and has to remember it all over again...
- just another nyaaa, forgettable sci-fi/thriller film

perfume the story of a murderer - 4/5
synopsis: a french dude obessess on making the most perfect perfume... (hint: you absolutely cannot manufacture perfumes made from a man's scent...)
- especially liked the whole city doing the orgy thing, weird ending though

fast and furious - 3/5
synopsis: i shall vanquish the drug dealer and avenge my dead girlfriend by driving really fast and looking cool as i do...
- cools cars, ok-ok cars scenes, ok-ok film, paul walker is still hot, vin diesel is still pretty macho, cool cars

music stalk - victim #1: transparent things by fujiya and miyagi

just got this song... i've been searching for it all over and i've finally gotten it today... i first heard this off the indie rock station of yahoo launchcast and at first, i didn't like it that much (it's usually like that with me with some songs)... then, after a few listens, i kinda dig it...

i'm not really much of a lyrics person when it comes to songs... i'm all about the melody and the arrangement and the listen... and this song is a good, good listen... makes you dance, makes you sway your head... god, i love indie...

try a whiff of it and enjoy...

i look through transparent things and i feel okay...

oh yeah...

(currently playing it over and over and over right now)

(that's how i stalk and eat music)

i will maintain this blog... i will maintain this blog... i will maintain this blog...

i've had "blogs" before... (forced by society to conform)... 1 in friendster (flooded with poems) and another in multiply (flooded with poems and emo-ness)...

then, i was invited by workmate, shirgie, to join this blogging event held by the digital filipino club (hope i got the name right)... at first, i was hesitant... i told him that i didn't have a blog (i haven't blogged for over a year)... still, the idea of free food and casino play lured me to join... i left a comment on the site he gave me to serve as my invitation to the event and gave my multiply site to serve as my "blog"...

come july 18, 2009, at the grand regal hotel, i was given the microphone to introduce myself and my blog... i felt ashamed because i was introducing a dead blog after pigging out so much... then again, the shame only lasted a few seconds and it was replaced by a rather strong desire to try again with blogging... maybe at least the next time i get to join another blogging event like that, i could be proud of introducing my blog...

so here it is... i will really, really try to maintain this blog... as of know, i've got a lot of ideas to populate this blog... i hope i won't dry out in the long run... i also hope i'd get to have some readers or followers or at least some people to comment on my posts...

I WILL MAINTAIN THIS BLOG!
